I have a very, VERY sad boy tonight.
Uncle Fuzzy passed away sometime between last night and tonight. He was in his nest under the platform, his favorite spot, with his eyes shut.
Uncle Fuzzy was our first non-aquatic pet. He brought Michael much joy and taught him a little bit more responsibility. He will be missed.

Being a pet owner inevitably brings a bit of sorrow as their life spans are so much shorter than ours. But the sorrow is far outweighed by the the joy, fun, laughter, cuddles, companionship, surprises, and the lifetime of memories our pets give us.
Michael, how lucky Uncle Fuzzy was to get to spend his short life with you. And how lucky you are too. I expect you'll be telling Uncle Fuzzy stories for many years. Ask your dad to tell some stories about pets from his childhood--you'll see how our pets are always part of us.
Big hugs,
Aunt Holly
